Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I qualify for medical marijuana in Florida?

You must be a permanent or seasonal Florida resident diagnosed with a qualifying medical condition. Qualifying conditions include cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, PTSD, ALS, Crohn's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, chronic nonmalignant pain, terminal conditions, and medical conditions comparable to those listed. During your evaluation, Dr. Salmun will determine if your condition qualifies.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

You'll need a valid Florida Driver's License or State ID and know your Social Security number. If you don't have a Florida ID, you'll need to provide the State with proof of residence in Florida.

How quickly can I visit a dispensary after my appointment?

In most cases, approval is immediate. You can visit a dispensary as soon as you're done with your visit. During the appointment, Dr. Salmun walks you through the State approval process together.

How much does an appointment cost?

New patient evaluations are $125 (in-person). Renewals are $95 (in-person or telehealth). After every 2 renewals with us, your next one is just $50. Military personnel and veterans receive a 10% discount. All follow-up questions at any time are completely free of charge.

What's required to show proof of Florida residency?

Permanent adult Florida residents must submit a copy of a valid Florida driver license or Florida identification card.

Seasonal residents without a Florida ID must submit copies of TWO of the following: a deed, mortgage, or lease agreement; a utility hookup or work order (dated within 60 days); a utility bill (not more than 2 months old); mail from a financial institution such as bank statements (not more than 2 months old); mail from a federal, state, county, or municipal government agency (not more than 2 months old); or proof of residential address from a person you reside with along with their statement confirming you live with them. You'll also need to upload a passport-size photo at the time of submission. The process for seasonal residents requires manual review of the submitted documents by the State — approval usually takes 10–14 days.

How often do I need to renew my certification?

Your medical marijuana certification expires every 7 months. We send reminders before your expiration date so you never lose access to your medication. Renewals can be done in-person or via telehealth.

What happens during my visit?

Your visit is personalized and unhurried — Dr. Salmun takes the time to understand your condition, answer all your questions, and discuss treatment options. In addition to the medical evaluation, you'll complete the State approval process together during the visit.

Is my information kept private?

Absolutely. All patient data is stored on HIPAA-compliant, encrypted servers. Your medical information is never shared without your explicit consent.
